What to Do If Alhambra Tickets Are Sold Out

WARNING: It is impossible for an individual to sell a ticket to another person. If anyone offers to sell you a ticket it is a scam. Never buy over priced Alhambra tickets. The General ticket including the Nasrid palaces should not cost more than 20 euros.

If you're in Granada and tickets to the Alhambra are sold out, don't worry! Here are some alternative options to make the most of your visit:

1. Visit the Alhambra Grounds for Free

Even without a ticket, you can explore some public areas of the Alhambra complex:

If you enter the grounds of the Alhambra though the Puerta de la Justicia (Gate of Justice) you can wander around some of the grounds of the Alhambra. Some of the palaces are free for example Carlos V more info  It is not as good as a visit with tickets but it is much better than nothing.  If you want to see a map of the route you can take from Plaza Nueva click here  The advantage of the no tickets trip is that it is FREE!!

2. Check for Last-Minute Tickets

Sometimes, tickets become available due to cancellations:

  • Visit the official Alhambra website regularly.
  • Contact local tour providers for group tickets eg Tiquets Civitatis Get your guide (make sure any ticket you buy includes the Nasrid Palaces)
  • Consider purchasing a Granada Card, which includes access to the Alhambra and other attractions. There are several versions of the Granada Card for example Tiquets (make sure any ticket you buy includes the Nasrid Palaces)

3. Get a ticket that does not include the Nasrid Palaces.

The Nasrid Palaces are one of the 3 main reasons why people visit the Alhambra.  The other two areas that need a ticket are the Alcazaba and the Gereralife.  When the Nasrid palaces are sold out you still might get a ticket to see  everything except the Nasrid Palaces so you can see  the Alcazaba, Generalife, Palaces of Carlos V, the Partal Garden and the Alhambra museum.  You can book this type of ticket here

4. Explore Other Attractions in Granada

Granada is full of amazing experiences beyond the Alhambra:

  • Albaicín District: Wander through the historic Moorish quarter. more info
  • Sacromonte: Visit caves and experience flamenco culture. more info book flamenco here
  • Carmen de los Mártires: A peaceful garden with beautiful views. more info
  • Granada Cathedral and Royal Chapel: Discover the city's rich history. more info

5. Check for Night Tours

Evening tours of the Alhambra or special events might have separate availability. These can offer a magical, crowd-free experience. more info

6. Use a Guided Tour

Local tour operators often purchase tickets in advance and might have availability even when individual tickets are sold out. Click here for reputable guided tour companies

7. Plan Ahead for Next Time

If you're unable to visit the Alhambra this time, consider booking tickets months in advance for your next trip. The Alhambra's popularity makes early reservations essential.
