If no fibre optic conexion is available how can I watch British (or other TV) in Spain.
To answer this question first we need to know how much data do we need per month.
According to the Netflix website one hour of standard streaming uses 1GB of data.
So work out how many hours of TV you watch each day and multiply by 30.
Let's say that the average person watches TV for 3 hours per day.
So 30 days X 3 = 90 GB
Let's say that the average person needs 120GB of data each month. For the purpose of this article we are going to use 120GB of data per month as the required amount. I personally always use unlimited contracts so I don't have to worry about usage.
The simplest method of getting internet is via the normal telephone conexion. The first thing to do is to test the speed which can get to your house.
Just google "speed test" with your smartphone browser and try out several speed tests. Do this at several times a day. If you can get 10mb per second on most of the tests then you are good to go. Note that you can increase the speed with special antennas so that if you are getting just below 10mb you can probably remedy this. ( I spent 75 euros on a 4G antenna and I almost doubled the speed)
Get a 4g router
If you have enough speed then the next step is to get a 4g router.
The easiest way to get a router is to buy one on Amazon.
Go to amazon and put "4g router" as a search term. The cheapest one appears to be the Cudy LT400 Router 4G LTE. It costs 38 euros. It will accept a nano sim.
Note: If you don't want to buy a router you could get an old phone and put the sim into it. Make a hotspot to share the internet. You could easily test this out right now using your own smartphone. It is very easy to make a hotspot using an android phone. You could actually use this method to watch TV all the time.
Get a 4G contract

SILBO
They have unlimited internet for 20 euros per month. Click here
MASMOVIL

These are lesser known phone companies. I have no personal experience of them.
MOVISTAR

Movistar internet radio unlimited 20 euros per month. 4g. Router is included click here
VODAFONE
They have unlimited for 30 euros per month click here
Choose one of the options above. They will normally send a sim card through the post and amazon will deliver your 4G router. It could be as simple as inserting the sim card into to the router and then configuring wifi. BY the way: It is much nicer to get into the configuration of the router and choose your own SSID (network name) and choose a password which is secure but not too hard too use. Something like MadCow123 not 2wG@K*NrXmz$HQiMjb@MhU.
If you are lucky it will just work. Note that sometimes you might have to make a call to activate the sim card. In that case put the sim into your phone and make a call.
The easiest way is to get a firestick. Just get a basic firestick which costs about 45 euros. You only need an expensive firestick if you have a very fast internet fibre optic conexion which I suppose you don't have. You can also get a chromecast or just use the software on your TV eg google TV. I only personally know about the firestick which works very well. It is easy to install apps on the firestick such as BBCIPLAYER, Channel 4, ITV, VPN etc.
To use British TV you need to use a VPN so that they think you are in the UK. I use purevpn many people recommend NORDVPN Pure VPN has worked well for me so I don't bother experimenting with other companies. I tend to contract the 5 year plan which works out very cheap. It has split tunneling which means that you can choose which apps to apply the vpn to. So on firestick you can tell it to put VPN on IPLAYER but not on Netflix for example.
By the way this is a link to a 15 day free trial of Pure Vpn Click here
I refuse to promote the idiot Elon Musk but he has a company called starlink. The price is 29 euros per month but you have to spend over 300 euros for the equipment.
Movistar have a good offer of satelite internet. It is 200 megas per second and costs 35 euros per month. More info
Look for people advertising wimax around your area. The quality of this service can vary a lot according to how far you are from the main antenna.
