The plaza is lined with a large canal, with bridges leading to the four corners of the plaza. The plaza is decorated with colorful tile work, depicting scenes from Spain's history. There are also alcoves representing the provinces of Spain, with inscriptions and tiles depicting its culture and history. The plaza is a popular tourist destination, and is featured in numerous films, including Lawrence of Arabia and Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.
